The Faces that Inspire Fletcher Allen

I am proud to say that I’ve been a part of Fletcher Allen Human Resources for over twelve years.   While a lot has changed within the organization during that time, one thing has not – the extraordinary people who work here!   There are so many dedicated, passionate and talented individuals that come to work every day with a singular focus: our patients.  The focus on the patient may come through compassionate and expert care; educating current and future care givers; or through cutting edge research that will save lives well beyond the borders of Vermont and northern New England.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my job has been leading the way in creating and managing a new recognition program to honor our extraordinary colleagues called Faces of Fletcher Allen. The Faces program, now in its second year, has allowed us to highlight and celebrate individuals throughout the organization who inspire, lead and foster an environment of care, collaboration and excellence.  The honorees come from all different areas and roles within the organization because we know that it takes teamwork, collaboration and integration to fulfill our tripartite mission of patient care, education and research.  These individuals exemplify what we refer to within the organization as our culture of ONE.

In 2012, we are celebrating 43 honorees by featuring their images and personal quotes epitomizing their passion and conviction for compassionate care, service and medicine, throughout our facilities.  We feel these compelling displays are the highest form of appreciation for the work they do and the impact they have not only on our patients, students and community but on each other as members of the Fletcher Allen family.

We welcome you to visit some of the locations where our Faces are on display – our Medical Center Campus, University Health Center campus, Fanny Allen campus, and at 1 Burlington Square. We will also highlight some of these individuals on our Facebook page in the coming weeks.  I hope you will be as inspired and moved as I am as you reflect on their words and images.
